Welcome Tiny Dancers!
Where Little Feet Take Their First Big Steps
Our Tiny Dancers program is the perfect introduction to dance for children ages 2.5–6 years. Every class is filled with movement, imagination, music, encouragement, and smiles as we help young dancers grow in confidence while learning foundational dance skills.

Designed Just for Little Learners
Young dancers learn best when movement feels playful, engaging, and easy to understand. That is why every activity in our Tiny Dancers classes combines purposeful learning with imagination, music, and fun.
Games
Playful activities help dancers practice coordination, listening, and classroom skills.
Imagination
Creative themes encourage expression, confidence, and joyful movement.
Music
Rhythm-based activities build musicality, timing, and an awareness of sound.
Storytelling
Stories turn dance steps into adventures young dancers can understand and remember.
Positive Encouragement
Our teachers celebrate effort, progress, independence, and the courage to try.
Hands-On Learning
Props, visual cues, and movement tools help little learners stay engaged and successful.
Every activity has a purpose—while still feeling like fun.
1) Warm-Up
We begin class by saying hello, placing our bag and water at the front of the room and finding our dance spots.
4) Jazz Fun (10–15 minutes)
Our jazz portion introduces energetic movement, jumps, turns, kicks, and across-the-floor activities that build confidence, coordination, and performance skills.
A Class with Purpose
What to Expect
Each class is structured to help dancers grow safely and confidently.
2) Tap Time (10–15 minutes)
Learn basic tap steps while developing rhythm, listening skills, and musicality through fun songs and activities.
5) Dance Party (3–5 minutes)
We wrap up every class with our favorite part—the IMD Dance Party! Dancers celebrate everything they've learned by dancing with colorful lights, and upbeat music! It's a joyful way to build confidence, encourage self-expression, and end class with smiles and excitement.
3) Ballet Basics (10–15 minutes)
Dancers change into their ballet shoes and explore basic ballet positions, balance, posture, coordination, and graceful movement using imaginative themes and storytelling.
6) Celebrate Progress
We end each class by celebrating our dancers' hard work! Dancers may earn a visit to our IMD Sparkle Station, receive positive encouragement, and leave feeling proud of what they accomplished.

Performance Opportunities
Our Tiny Dancers (Ages 2.5–6yrs) have the exciting opportunity to shine on stage twice during the dance season! These performances are designed to build confidence, celebrate each dancer's growth, and create lasting memories for the whole family.
Winter Showcase
Our Winter Showcase (December) is a festive performance where dancers share what they've been learning in class during the first half of the season. This fun, low-pressure event helps young dancers become comfortable performing in front of an audience while celebrating the joy of dance.
Spring Showcase
The Spring Showcase (May) is our end-of-season celebration! Dancers will perform a choreographed routine for family and friends, showcasing the technique, confidence, and skills they've developed throughout the year. It's a wonderful way to celebrate their accomplishments and love of dance.
Every Performance Helps Dancers Grow
Our showcases are about much more than learning choreography. They help dancers develop:
-
Confidence on stage
-
Performance skills and stage presence
-
Teamwork and cooperation
-
Listening and following directions
-
Responsibility and commitment
-
Pride in their accomplishments
-
Lasting memories with family and friends
At Imagery in Motion Dance, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the excitement of performing. Our showcases are positive, encouraging, and designed to help each dancer leave the stage feeling proud, successful, and excited to dance again.
